“ARt that withdraws, leaves space and does not impose itself, quite but therefore so powerful”

A foggy, mountainous landscape with many pine trees, leafless trees, and rocky terrain.

The Black Forest exemplifies nature's strength and character. Its vast woodlands, filled with towering evergreens and vibrant meadows, create a timeless atmosphere. The rich biodiversity supports countless species and is vital to the ecosystem, embodying resilience. Crystal-clear streams wind through this majestic landscape, their soothing sounds enhancing nature's grandeur. Each season unveils new beauty, from spring blossoms to autumn hues, inviting reflection and inspiration.

Culturally, the Schwarzwald features charming villages and traditions that forge a strong bond between the people and their environment. Artisans craft exquisite woodwork, weaving the forest's stories into their art, while local festivals celebrate seasonal bounties.

As a cornerstone of Gallery Aesth, the Black Forest symbolizes our artistic inspiration and creativity, representing a landscape where strength meets serenity and character blends with community. This rich tapestry of nature and culture embodies our identity.

It`s About CulturE

The selected works by ÆSTH showcase a contemporary design language, with the use of raw materials supported by proprietary techniques and craftsmanship. All pieces are handmade in small series. Being craftsmen themselves, they draw inspiration from various forms of art and sculpture that influence the creation of pure forms, often brutally revealing the materiality of the object. With the shared vision of other talented artists, they bring a selection of pieces that carry similar values and aesthetic language. Raw, pure forms, sometimes brutalist with a touch of elegance. Each artist's respective work resonates with the rest of their peers, creating a homogenous and interesting take on contemporary yet timeless design.

From the very beginning, design thinking based on natural materials and excellent manufacturing has been in harmony with a concept that gives preference to craftsmanship. In the selection process, we have naturally focused on crafts that highlight a certain know-how from different fields. The material is worked with more or less modern techniques that give a new and timeless meaning to the objects we select for ÆSTH.

We have surrounded ourselves with people from various field, craftsmen, architects, ceramists, visual artists or designers, all of whom contribute to revealing a style in which the love of materials and know-how brings us together.
